26.02.2026. New book on the list of “extremist materials”

Today it became known that on February 18, 2026, by the decision of the Partyzanski District Court of Minsk, a new book was added to the list of “extremist materials.”

This is a children’s story about a dinosaur named Dzha who collected curious treasures: feathers, shells, and stones. His native island was seized by cruel monsters who took over the best places to live and forbade anyone from remembering the past. However, when faced with a choice between peace and resistance, Dzha chose to fight, and in the end the invaders were forced to hide in their slimy burrows.

We remind you that the inclusion in the “National List of Extremist Materials” carries severe legal consequences, including administrative liability for producing, publishing, possessing, or transporting the banned book. In practice, the scope of “prohibited acts” is applied excessively broadly. Sanctions range from heavy fines to administrative arrest, creating a powerful deterrent for authors, publishers, and readers.
